FROM OUT OF THE EAST
From out of the east is an album that was commissioned by Mainstage Music in 1999 with the idea of creating an album of new Christmas songs, which were gleaned from entries by songwriters and artistes of richly diverse styles, who responded to a competition run by Mainstage in conjunction with BBC local radio stations.Howard Werth was asked to produce the album and he also sang on two of the tracks 'His Name' and 'the Incarnation Hymn',as well as playing guitar on several tracks.The opening track by the girl group 'Splendour' Howard co-produced with legendary producer Gus Dudgeon. The albums proceeds are, in part, in aid of 'Tearfund' the charity organisation that does so many hugely supportive projects in the third world.
